YOUTH MINISTRY

The Plains Presbyterian Church Youth Ministry exists to present youth mature in Jesus Christ through Youth Group, Small Groups, One on One’s, and Fun Events. By offering these ministries we seek to come alongside parents and grandparents as they help their youth follow Jesus. We want to care and disciple Plains Youth, but also tell non-Christian youth the good news of Jesus Christ.

Avenues of ministry to our youth:

Sunday School meets from 9-9:45am. Youth Sunday School is broken up into 5th-8th and 9-12th grade. The focus in Sunday School is learning the major stories, themes, and doctrines of the Bible and how they relate to Jesus Christ.

Youth Group: Jr. High and Sr. High meet Sunday evenings in the fall and spring semesters to fellowship, play games and activities, and learn from the Bible. Jr. High meets from 5-6:30pm and Sr. High meets from 6:30-8pm. Reach out to the office (plainspca@gmail.com) for a full schedule.

Small Groups: Sr. High Girls and Guys meet separately throughout the semester to dive deeper into a study on some aspect of the Christian life. We have discussed worldview, community, friendship, ethics, and Christian disciplines. This is a sweet time to build deep relationships.

Fellowship, Missions, and Conferences: Throughout the year we have fun events where Sr. High and Jr. High students gather for fun and fellowship. This includes bonfires, tailgates, etc. As well, in the summers we take our students to youth conferences and missions trips. We want our students to know and understand that serving God happens in community.

PraiseMakers is a vocal ensemble for girls 6th-12th grade and meets on Sunday afternoons from 4:00-5:00 p.m.
